I hope for a quick response. | 1. You change the difficulty level by hitting the hi-hat twice. This is the same as the arcade.
2. Nope, I wouldn't recommend anything that's like the Playstation drum controller. Save up for the Yamaha DTXplorer and the MIDI to USB adapter. It's definitely more playable as everything is more spread out and can be positioned where you want it, and is much more responsive. Even if you stop playing DTXMania, you can still enjoy the digital drums on its own.

Save up for the Yamaha DTXplorer and the MIDI to USB adapter. | The only problem is that I need something easily transportable (and carriable). I plan on bringing the drum controller from my dorm room to the Student Center (which is about a block away), where I hold the Music Video Gaming Club meetings. (This is the same reason why I don't plan on getting a Cobalt Flux metal pad, even though my soft pad (with foam inserts) is starting to tear.). This is why I was considering a drum controller (either the "Drum King" controller or the official Drummania controller) instead of a drumset.
Also, I have one more question: Is there any way to remove all of the high scores and play data that are saved in DTXMania? (The reason why I'm asking is that there was data saved in the files that I downloaded from Meow's torrent, and I want to get rid of that.)
Thank you for answering my previous questions, and I hope for a quick reply!

Marketplace Rating: 0 | JasonMath: You can look for the file ****.gda.score (where **** is the gda's name) in every folder which has the unwanted high score and delete it. Or you could use the windows "find" program and just delete every .gda.score you wanna delete, though u may accidentally delete ur own high score in the process.
Now I have 2 questions for the wise people:
1) I have just updated DTX to v.061 from v.055b. The odd thing is that 061 was unable to read the high scores from v.055b. It's like both versions have their own list of high scores.
Is there a way to make 061 read my high scores from v.055b? It's a freaking pain to play all 1k+ gdas all over again.
2) After a few days of playing DTXMania061, now I'm unable to open the program altogether. The program closes by itself, saying that it has caused an error and needs to be terminated. This situation happens once the OK appears for "Loading ScreenSounds" (the 1st line in the loading screen). Now my 055b has been implicated with the same problem. Even if I reinstall my 061, it's still the same problem.
Any help? | |

That's what I thought I should do, but I wanted to make sure. I also deleted the ****.dtx.score files, since those also had data on them.

1) The scores from 061 are incompatible with 055. According to the creators, there's no way around it because the score files generated completely differently. I was a little depressed when I made the switch, but hey, they're just numbers.
2) 061 is a lot buggier than 055, no doubt about it. Make sure you have the latest DirectX installed. Perhaps other people at GDAmania could help you as we have a few experts there who may be able to answer your problem. Did you try deleting the folder completely?
On the bright side, Mr. Yamasaki (DTXMania creator) said that 063 is under development. Hopefully a lot of the issues with 061 will be fixed by then.

Not much fun... they had this mode in DM3 too, but it didn't last.

Marketplace Rating: 0 | Okay, so I'm downloading the official release along with some tools for importing midis and such...I also have the choices between Synthesia and DoReMi...? Which one is the best? I'm so very lost as to which one I should get.
EDIT: Yes, the official release of Keyboardmania from Yamaha.
EDIT2: I've got a virtual Windows XP on my Mac & Crossover Games, which allows me to play Windows games in a single window without booting up a whole entire Windows XP system, but Synthesia supports native MAC OS X support, so....I'm pretty much sold. I hope it's good! I bet it doesn't give you scores and such like on Keyboardmania though, right?
