DTXMania syncing issues

I've always had problems with DTXMania staying in sync on my laptop. Sometimes the keysounds are just completely off, but will somewhat correct themselves for a bit off the song and then be off again. It will occasionally hiccup during the song as well. It can't be a problem EVERY simfile I have, as I've got quite a few and they were well reviewed on GDAmania.net.

Could this have something to do with my monitor? It's widescreen, 1680x1050. I have a decent desktop laying around that I need to set up yet, and I'm assuming it would run alright on that, it would just be SO nice if I could get it working on the laptop.

Figured I should finally try to do something about this with the GH4 drumset coming out and all.

I've experienced this as well, but I've usually found that its a gapping issue with the individual song files. UNFORTUNATELY, I have no idea how to edit dtx files in the least.
