I downloaded the Ogg Vorbis codec needed for the .xa sound files for some of the songs on GDAmania. However, how do I use it, where do I extract the files to?

the DTXmania folder.
also, I don't believe the OGG vorbis codec is not for .xa files, it's for .ogg files.

XA Format is used by default in DTXMania.

here's something that encodes and decodes XA format

Game Support Tools

look for XA2WAV for a decoder and WAV2XA for an encoder.

drag and drop the files into these files

and if the product files doesn't appear, they are created in
c:\Documents and Settings\(USERNAME)

Never mind, I got it to install. After downloading the codec (it's called Vorbis ACM btw), extract it anywhere. You have to right-click the file "vorbisacm.inf" (not sure about the extention.

So, now I'm in business. Just as well; I couldn't get that XA2WAV tool to work.

Angel Magic's guitar chart underwhelms me. So I made a few modifications, and this is the result:
angel_magic-another.zip

A simple patch to the DTX rip of Angel Magic, it adds a guitar-only Another difficulty. There are no drums (all drum notes have been set to autoplay) and no rating (it's unofficial after all, like Mahou no Taruto open pick). It also uses some keysounds from Mr. Moon (Angel Magic's folder and Mr. Moon's folder have to reside in the same folder for the new keysounds to work).

So yeah, enjoy.

Because of the usual complete lack of 2-player guitar patterns, I had to make up the patterns myself. They're not too hard, but IMO are still better than the original patterns.

im just getting into Drum2Net and DTXmania so im wondering if there are more song download sites besides the already mentioned ones? thx especially the drummania v(insert number) files, they are really awesome

im also wondering how to play guitar mode in dtx?

For Guitar? No.

Hayabusa has some awesome drum DTXs. I'm almost as addicted to his "Drink It Down" (L'arc) DTX as I am Meow's "Hanabi". My wife actually stops what she's doing when I play that song because it's so awesome (both actually, but Hanabi moreso).

I'm gonna put together a list soon. I hit all these link sites looking for DTXs. Sometimes I find a Japanese site that lists all these DTXs, but has no download links, so that's really frustrating.
