need help for drum controller

I just downloaded DTXMania out of curiosity since I play GFdm in PS2 with my friends. We're using the red (6 buttons?) Konami drum mania controller that came out with the game. Using the PS2 game controllers via an adapter, my computer seems to find it. But plugging the drum controller doesn't give any response, even though the Vista OS tells it's "OK". What do I need to make this thing work in my laptop?

Your problem could probably be solved if it wasn't Vista

In any case, what converter are you using for the PS2 to PC? I use the Super Joy Box 3 with my PS2 drummania controller, and had no problem with it. Also I'm using Windows XP.


Also if you can get on AIM tonight (around 7pm EST) I could possibly help you using another route, if the system does in fact atleast pick up the controller

Sorry for the delays. Been away from civilization past few months. And the holidays...
Anyways, thank you all for the info. I'll try again in an XP machine. Oh, and the adaptor's from (and by) RadioShack.
