Default OpenITG Alpha8

okay. I don't even know where to start. I hope I posted this into the right place and I'm allowed to ask a few questions. If not I apologize ahead of time.

Today I got home from work and decided, "I'm going to find the most realistic ITG simulation program/theme and get it fully functioning."

This was very stupid of me. After trying so many different builds, programs, themes, versions, blah blah blah, I came across OpenITG.

It's flawless. I dropped a song file in and instantly felt the perfectness I was in quest for. I found a fix for the noteskins problem I was having but I feel like I'm struggling to be able to change some of the smallest things. I know this is meant for actual arcade cabinets, but I think it would be super badass if I could get this running smoothly on my comp. I understand that I'd have to convert/ogglength patch but that's completely fine with me. It just looks, feels and plays perfect. here with go with my list of questions:

-----edit edit edit edit edit-----
Okay so the first two questions I posted here I answered. yayyy.
But as we all know that leads to more questions, harder ones.

1. Whenever I load the program, it never saves ALL of my settings I changed in the options. For example, the free play/home/etc. will all stay how I had put it. Same with just about everything else. But the window size won't stay the same. And I don't think the scores save either.

2. I had an issue with the arrows all being one color, but now they are fixed. Problem is whenever I play the first song since I've opened the program it gives me some goofy error. If I ignore it, everything works perfectly until I have to boot it again.
Here is the error:
Multiple files match 'NoteSkins/dance/metal/Down Roll TopCap Active'. Please remove all but one of these files.
and then I'll press Okay. and then:
Multiple files match 'NoteSkins/dance/metal/Down Roll Body Active'. Please remove all but one of these files.
This goes on for a while. I pretty much just hold down enter until they are all done. Then it works perfectly. It happens the same with cel, vivid, etc. as well. Any help fixing these would be awesome!

Is there like a known-unknown underground source to help guide these things? I've scavenged the internets and all message boards and google'd a whole bunch. No luck.

Any advice, help, anything is very appreciated.
thanks guys.

Use OpenITG prebeta

1. In order for those settings to save those settings
Look in the statistic.ini and stepmania.ini and change what you desire (windowed to full screen, free play to homeplay, etc)

2. Thats a graphic card issue. Mostly happens when a graphics card is outdated. try updating your video card or switch to OpenGL. Look under video renderers in the stepmania.ini and statistic.ini and chage it to "opengl,d3d"
If you experience choppy rendering issues with the noteskins. as for the errors. Usually happens when you play windowed mode

Try these: dance.zip
They're 2D but they animate on both D3D and OpenGL make sure you delete your entire dance folder and replace them with the 2D set.
