Dancing Stage Ultimix 3 - The Next Generation

In 2005, it began. Dancing Stage Ultimix. Over 60 songs, each with Light, Standard and Heavy steps. It was not well known, or not as much as it should've been.

In 2006, the sequel had arrived. Anticipation grew for this pack, with 114 songs, just beating DDR Extreme (JP) by 1 song. This included legends like Dokurorider, Hiryuu, Spork!, cpubasic13, Kewing Darksun and many more. This pack had improved over the original.

And now...

It's that time again! The next installment of the Dancing Stage Ultimix series will blow you away! New revivals category, combinging the old with the new. New courses, that will shock and excite you every step of the way. New Unlock System, with an all-new method of locking songs not yet seen in a pack before.

You might be wondering, "what is the next generation about?". Well, this time, no dissapointing charts will be accepted. This pack is a co-op by myself and Spork!, to ensure that all charts are good and fun. But don't worry if you think we are going to be really harsh. We don't expect every chart to be the best stepchart in the world ever. That's fine with us. If the chart is fun, we will accept it. Graphics aren't too big of a factor, but I'm sure if they are we will just ask nicely in the graphic requests and see what turns up.

How is it exactly going to work you say? Every week I will upload the batch of simfiles that people have given me permission to use to rapidshare and give Spork! the link. He will then decide which simfiles are good enough and will PM me the 'survivors'. So that does mean I cannot approve any files until each Friday, they will be pending in the next post down.

As usual, if you want to do exclusives, please do! Send them to benspeirs@hotmail.co.uk and I'll download them from there. You will get a reward of 350 tokens for each Exclusive file you make. This is probably not going to change anybody's mind about doing one, but it's just my little "Thank You!".

Ah, one more graphical question: If it's a video game simfile will a screenshot from the video game with text on it as the background be acceptable? For video game sims it almost seems right to use a screenshot as a background.

I've done that a few times with soem of my sims. It's not only a matter of it fitting the song or not, but sometimes there's not enough source material if you plan to do sims of the same game (clear example Sonic CD). So I guess it's no problem.

As for the pack, Ben, count me in as well . I'll keep you informed on what I can come up with for the pack.

I seriously didn't think it's get this much attention until tomorrow when us europeans are asleep, but even hen I didn't expect all this! This is a fantastic stat to what I hope will be a fantastic pack!

When I get songs, I will go on a very loose scale:

10pts: Onbeat. If it is onbeat, it gets 10 pts. If BPM goes off a bit, I'll take some points off, but if It looks like you made a genuine effort to get it right, I'll be happy.

10pts: Graphics. Not too huge, I can make some if needed.

50pts: FULL CHARTS. Beginner-Heavy at least. Oni's approved if they make sense. Edits are ok, but if they are too hard, I will remove them. The points also go by how much fun the charts are and if they fit.

10pts: Doubles/Solo/Pump. No autogenning, please!

So, with 80 points being Max, and 0 points being Horrible, I'll accept all files above a 55. I'll award extra points if you include full versions of songs in an Extras folder, and a free 2 points if you include a Readme file with information.

One other thing. RAP WILL BE INSTANTLY REMOVED. I can;t stand the stuff, and i have yet to see a decent rap chart (in the 4 years I have been playing) so yeah.

Pretty cool way of doing things! I would've never of thought to do it like that at all! Banjo Thing has also been added

And to follow up what Spork! said, I will not accept rap, because the music is normally c-rap and it IS very hard to create a decent stepchart to it. Although if the chart is REALLY good I may think about it. One man's trash is another man's treasure right?

Also I may change the date I give you the files to every 3 or 4 days, just at the beginning when it's popular. When it slowly dies out I'll change it.

AND thanks for working on some courses! I will make them too, but it's nice to know I have some help!

Seriously I'm amazed how well this is going in under a day!

EDIT: Beginner charts are not always made, so maybe that shouldn't be counted towards the overall score.

Do you mind if I you used 1, or 2 of my sims I'm putting into BemaniMania? It seems all my good Bemani sims are going in there, and I'm sort running out of Bemani songs I want to step :P

But I'm sure I have months to make sims anyway, right?
