MAI REVIEWS =D

crossposting from everywhere

Breekan ____________> Exotic Ethnic (OR-IF-IS mix) 11
it was nicely done overall, and technically correct. also, for the second time in history of stepmania a girl is able to create such cool sims. 8/10

Breekan ____________> The Strong Jaeger (UFO! remix) 12
this wasn't bad, but somtimes i felt that the 32nds were out of place. nice btw, i really enjoyed it anyways 7/10

-Carlitos- ___________> A-yo!! part.2 10
the only thing i complain about this is that scratches are unstepped. it can't be done very much on a song like this. way to AAAA 7/10

DDRace _____________> Melty *Bit* Phrase Silly Walker 11
best file from DDRace i've ever seen, cool bpm tricks but the song is pretty repetitive. still fun though 7,5/10

DDRace _____________> Pussy All Night 12
well, the song was just sooooo hot but the steps kinda bothered me. it is pretty index biased, so there isn't much layering and some of the patterns are a bit random, like in the jumps section. 5,5/10

Dethev _____________> Go Berzerk 12 [solo chart 12 14]
this is a file I really like, it's so damn good on a dumb song like this. i can't do the solo chart though : sad : 9,5/10

Dethev _____________> Marry Me Today 11
it's actually chinese, taken from a tv spot (dethev's word) and the song sucks so much rofl. the steps are just the best you can do on a thing like this. 6/10

Dj_Ossa + Rebirth ____> Sleeping Terror 12
cool collaboration, but i had no trouble founding ossa's section lmao
the jacks are pretty annoying to me because i can't do well on them, but the file is pretty cool, and i can't stop listening to the song. 8,5/10

Dj_Ossa ____________> Airflow 12
it's teh freeze party! pretty good though. the song made me vomit. 7,5/10

Dj_Ossa ____________> Gillette 11
el ritmo latino! ossa wins for stepping this nigger shit lol
actually the steps are pretty fun, but this is pretty old and has patterns errors 6,5/10

Dj_Ossa ____________> Itsuka Ji Ga Nagare Te 13
8-bit wapanese orgasm. also, tsuka is involved in this. very good job on this, almost flawless. 9,5/10

Dj_Ossa ____________> Music (bostik radio edit) 12 13
the best you can do on a repetitive song like this. both charts are pretty fun and challenging. 8/10

Dj_Ossa ____________> Overall 13
this is good, but many parts should have been done differently and sometimes the patterns made me cry. honestly, i won't play it too much =( 5/10

Dj_Ossa ____________> Tell Me A Story (compendium mix) 12 13
both charts were nice, but the hands positioning in the oni is questionable. cool bpm tricks btw 8,5/10

Ducky ______________> Click Again 12 14
this is actually one of the hardest files in the pack, and all the bpm tricks are secksi. patterns are a bit awkward sometimes, and oni is a real xmod challenge. 9,5/10

Ducky ______________> Flute Man 11 12 11
this file is really close to prefection, and i loved it from the first time i saw it 10/10

Exige _______________> Sonata (o2 version) 12 12 [solo chart 12]
the single chart was a bit boring, because of the song itself though, and sometimes patterns weren't that great. still good 6,5/10

GLoVE ______________> Dream Battle -imperishable night- (2004) 13
pretty simple and creative in sounds following. 7,5/10

IamMe ______________> Acid Rain 11 [solo chart 3 8 10]
i still think t0ra's was better in some spots, but this file is still very good and nearly flawless. also, some right hand jacks were hard to me but that's because i suck good job iamme 9/10

IamMe ______________> Burning Heat -Full Option Mix- 12
very close to perfection. 10/10

IamMe ______________> gradius -Full Speed- 12
read above 9,5/10

Jimbo ______________> Flame Failure On Snow 11 12
many parts made me fart, i don't like this file too much. i am honestly too lazy to check, but sometimes arrows are out of sync 4/10

Jimbo ______________> Free Style 10 13
this is actually better than the other jumbo's files, and pretty fun. but some layering errors are pretty annoying 6/10

Jimbo ______________> Les Filles Balancent 10
many parts are gay, some sounds are stepped like freezes and then they magically become simple arrows when they repeat themselves. a lot more should have been done on this. 4,5/10

MacGravel __________> Dead And Direct 11
even if some steps are kinda retarded, this made me come. awesome like few files i ever played. 10/10

MelonMan67 _________> Newester 12
the song remembers me zaghurim's style, the steps are pretty good, probably his best sim to date 7/10

MelonMan67 _________> We're Not Gonna Fall 12
i must admit it: i've been a children of bodom addict, and that's why i like this file so much. but the steps are awesome in parts and really dumb in other sections. 7/10

Mobius _____________> Pink Fuzzy Bunnies 11
i think this is for indexers <.<well> Hyper Pressure 12 13
i tried to do what is possible to make it fun and technically correct, but there are stiil plenty of errors. some patterns are a bit rough, but this is not so bad 6/10

Necros + -Carlitos- __> So Fabulous!! 12 13
maybe my best file to date 7,5/10

Necros + Dj_Ossa ____> Eye Opener 12 13
stepped to pwn an italian friend who thought his version was good. pretty gay 4,5/10

Necros _____________> A-yo!! part.1 11
OMG PLZ delete my old homo version if you eventually have it. no stupid oni anymore. steps are great on this, i'm happy : : guys AAAA it k bai 8/10

Necros _____________> Pleasant Farmer 13 14
this file is gay and stupid and i started it like in 2004 and finished 2 years later and realized it sucked after sending a beta verion to zaghurim who told me i'm a nigger italian and the song was bullshit and now it's just a retarded 205 bpm wapanese gabber simfile with some mines throwed into that thaor hasn't AAA'ed yet and i can't pass anymore so leave me alone 2/10

Necros + Rebirth _____> the Lunatic Princess 13
i'm not too happy about what i have done on this, but it is fun at least, and i helped rebirth to improve a couple of sections.

Nemosta ____________> Comment Te Dire Adieu 11 12
way to AAAA heavy. great patterns. oni is pretty stupid but whatever 8/10

Pants ______________> LittleLittlePrincess 12
very fun, but patterns were somtimes randomish 6,5/10

Rebirth ____________> Come 11
AAAA material. 6/10

Rebirth ____________> Disillusion 11
pretty nice 7/10

Rebirth ____________> Magical Hacker 11
wapanese 6,5/10

Rebirth ____________> Musou Uta 11
liked it so much 8/10

Rebirth ____________> My Will 11
oh well, i don't like too much these kind of songs but the steps were fun 7,5/10

Rebirth ____________> Rainbow Rainbow 12
i don't think much more can be done on this song. 6,5/10

Rebirth ____________> Saikyou OX Keikaku 12
mosaic.waw rocks. the simfile has some retarded sections, but still amazing 8,5/10

Rebirth ____________> SOCOPOGOGO (YMCK) 12
pretty original in sounds following, some parts weren't so good but still ok 6,5/10

Rebirth ____________> Sunny Starry Carnival 11
cool and creative file 9/10

Rebirth ____________> Yamato Nadeshiko 12
pretty good challenging. song is hot but pitch relevance errors really bothered me. 7/10

Taifunbrowser ______> It Plays Windows 12
it's alright, but some parts were too retarded to be fun. 5,5/10

Taifunbrowser ______> KIDDY! 11 12
this whole file is just amazing, and i don't fucking care about little patterns errors because it's sooo secsiiiiii 10/10 ps tsuka's GFX is 100% matching whoa i love you

Taifunbrowser ______> Sora 11
loved it, but it's not even comparable to TGWP. also some patterns were gay. still a nice job 8/10

Tsuka _____________> Countdown To Destination 13
really good mines using, the whole file is very good except for a section in the middle that has some random 16ths jumpstream going to nothing

Tsuka _____________> Kimi Wa Suteki 12
instaneous orgasm 9/10

Tsuka _____________> Saisoku 12
read above 9/10

Tsuka _____________> Sakura Kagetsu 12 11
read above 8/10

Tsuka _____________> The Adjustor 12
innovative song selection, steps are fun as hell and it's overall very good 9,5/10

Vospi ______________> Having Smarter Babies 12
cool idm file + vospi's weird stepping style 9/10

Vospi ______________> Inner Universe (speed trance mix) 11
i like it, but some parts are meh 5,5/10

Vospi ______________> Phantom Psycho Orchestra 13
hi retarded ending but it can be done with some good mashing lmao
cool at the end 7,5/10

Yesssss ____________> Blue Rose 12 [solo chart 11]
legendary, bot single and solo 10/10

Yesssss ____________> Quinine -A2D Side- 12 12
cool 8) 9/10

Zaghurim + Rebirth ___> BB Revenge 13 [solo chart 13 14]
fantastic simfile, maybe the best rebirth has sent to us. 9,5/10

Zaghurim ___________> Air -Full Version- 13
zaghurim says it's gay, but i like it very much. 9/10

Zaghurim ___________> Cruel Whole (Abelcain remix) -Full Version- 14
technicality but it's retarded unless you are godly at jacks 8/10

Zaghurim ___________> Kurtzman 12
perfect 10/10

Zaghurim ___________> Ninjas Are Still The Hardest 12
really cool, and finally finished lol. some jumps seem to be missing, unless you were following another stepping principle. 7,5/10

Zaghurim ___________> Skalman's Dark Adventures 13
so fun, even if it's short. 9,5/10

Zanthro ____________> Swing 54321 13

Come on guys, did anyone from the home of stepmania download or even play any of these files? I'd think that if any place, this would be the forum all over this thing. Man, was I so wrong :\ . Come on guys, even 2 of my files made it into this thing .

I was disappointed by this pack. I decided that, since I'd posted my comments on FFR, I didn't need to on here. The pack was hit and miss overall, and if there is a second itteration, I expect more fun, original, creative, amazing files and less repetitive, technical garbage that anyone with an ear and an understanding of pitch relevancy could throw together. Don't get me wrong, a lot of fun files. But there was a lot of junk too.

consider that many of the sim makers aren't able to do that. amazing and innovative simfiles are even harder to create. and our goal was to create a balanced pack, which contains lots of different types of simfiles, so everyone will find something cool in it.

I understand that, I just didn't think there were ENOUGH fun files to merit me posting "GREAT PACK GUYS!" I can appreciate a techincal file, but the songs picked for most of the technical charts were too repetitive and got boring really fast. Even if you're making a techincal file, you can at least start off a little easier and build to make it a little more interesting. I remember someone posted a while back that files start off just as hard as they end anymore, and I agree. That is one of the major faults of these technical files. They're the same 4 measures, slightly modified, repeated throughout most of the song, with one or two more sets of 4 measures for the chorus and bridge (if there is one). At least start off a little easier and start stepping more sounds as you go to give the file some progression. Making a file "technically" shouldn't remove any originality or uniqueness from it. Personally I've had enough

"1e jump, 2e jump, 3e+a jump-e-jump"
and
"jump + jump + 3e+ jump +"

files.

If you don't get that notation, "#" represents the #th beat of a measure, "e" represents the second 16th value of a beat, "+" represents the 8th value of a beat, and "a" represents the third 16th value of a beat.

ah, i see your point. well, i still enjoy those kind of files :p

however, the meaning of this pack was to create a balanced pack, so everyone likes some sims from it. just understand that there are others types of fun, even if i kinda agree on what you said.

I like the idea of trying to make it balanced, but I think there could have been more, dare I say it, Aperson styled charts (recent Vunderbar-like Aperson charts anyways) or even more charts like Sunny Starry Carnival or whatever the name was. It just seemed a little more weighted towards the overtly technical files, but I guess in the end those are more common.

i think like 10 persons in the world are capable to do such sims. for example kilga, zaghurim, kil, zanthro, bursurk lurk, aperson, hst and few others. normal people like me cannot still do that. a long experience is needed.
