Just on the heels of the release of XG, it seems Konami of Japan isn't quite yet abandoning the traditional guitar and drumming format through the discovery of V7 product pages found by members of the Bemanistyle.com forums. The company announced the games on Wednesday through its official Japanese site and while not much is known about the titles at this point, there are product concepts listed on the games' product pages. As always, as soon as more news surfaces, we'll be sure to report on it.

Harmonix today announced in correlation with Warner Bros. Records that it will be launching Green Day: Rock Band on June 8 for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii.

Again, the band-imaged title puts players in the role of Green Day as they progress through the band's career, unlocking more than 100 images and more than 40 minutes of rare and unreleased video footage from the band's career. Harmonix confirms the title will utilize the three-voice harmony technology introduced in The Beatles: Rock Band and an on-disc offering of 47 tracks including the following:

We've previously given the European title Maestro! Jump In Music some attention on Bemanistyle, but the title released in November with no indication of whether it would come to the U.S. Last year Bemanistyle had a brief e-mail exchange with developer Pastagames, which stated the company was trying hard to find a U.S. publisher and with a recent Electronic Software Ratings Board update, it seems like this may have finally happened, however, it will likely be released as a digital-only title thanks to the game's original publisher.

GuitarFreaks & DrumMania XG, the highly anticipated new entries in Konami's guitar and drum simulation game series, will finally see its release today in Japan. For those who need a refresher, the XG series introduces brand new updated cabs along with new expanded controllers and updated gameplay.
