Foreign Media Games is still aiming to bring Armin van Buuren to the Nintendo Wii in 2010, as stated in a bit of an update released for In the Mix: Featuring Armin van Buuren. While still not very much is known about the gameplay mechanics, the most current press release details the game's career mode, which, just like any other rhythm game has you starting out as new to the scene, performing at local venues, based on the city you choose, until you make a name for yourself. This obviously eventually leads to larger clubs, record deals and international fame, but the descriptions that actually lead us into the meat of the game fall within the bounds of the DJ store.
Each performance earns the player money to buy new equipment, which actually seems to affect the gameplay. Listed examples of this mechanic include buying better mixers to have more channels available for mixing and better headphones to assist in beat matching. The only other tidbit we get based on the gameplay is in utilizing various poses and gestures at points in your set to keep the audience hot.
We're still waiting to see what unfolds for In the Mix's gameplay but, to reiterate from our initial post on the title, the game will feature a number of works from Armin van Buuren, including unreleased mixes. On top of those tracks, the game will see some artists included that Armin van Buuren works with regularly. Right now it seems like the title is lined up only for a European release, but we'll see if this changes as the game continues through development.
