Fans of The Beatles will finally begin to start seeing the title's long-touted DLC tracks starting this week, side-by-side with the announcement of 10 Queen tracks hitting the standard Rock Band series. Of course, it has long been known that Abbey Road would be the first album in line to receive the DLC treatment.
Naturally, "Come Together," "Something," "Octopus's Garden," "I Want You (She's So Heavy)," "Here Comes the Sun" and "The End" are already on the retail game disc, but the DLC releases will allow players to download three separate singles or snatch up a "Complete Album Pack."
For the Xbox 360 (releasing Oct. 20) and Playstation 3 (releasing Oct. 22):
For $1.99 or 160 Microsoft Points a piece, these three songs can be downloaded individually:
"Maxwell's Silver Hammer"
"Oh! Darling"
"Because"
The "Complete Album Pack," costing $16.99 or 1360 Microsoft Points, will net players not only the previously mentioned individual songs, but also:
* The entire Abbey Road B-side 16 minute medley that includes: “You Never Give Me Your Money,” “Sun King,” “Mean Mr. Mustard,” “Polythene Pam,” “She Came in Through the Bathroom Window,” “Golden Slumbers,” “Carry That Weight” and “The End”
* Also, players can play the following songs as 1- to 3-song sets, reflecting the way they were originally recorded and composed:
"You Never Give Me Your Money"
"Sun King"/"Mean Mr. Mustard"
"Polythene Pam"/"She Came in Through the Bathroom Window"
"Golden Slumbers"/"Carry That Weight"/"The End"
"Her Majesty"
To make a note, Harmonix and MTV Games stress in the press release that "The End" was not factored into the price of the product (as it is, of course, featured on-disc), so you don't have to worry about being charged twice for that particular song.
For the Nintendo Wii version (releasing Oct. 20):
Individual track purchases include "Maxwell's Silver Hammer," "Oh! Darling," "Because" and "You Never Give Me Your Money" for 200 Wii Points a piece and "Her Majesty" for 100 Wii Points.
Also, the following multi-track sets can be purchased at 350 Wii Points each:
"Sun King"/"Mean Mr. Mustard"
"Polythene Pam"/"She Came in Through the Bathroom Window"
"Golden Slumbers"/"Carry That Weight"/"The End"
Again, note that "The End" is not factored into the price of the DLC item.
If you're eager for even more The Beatles DLC, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is lined up for a DLC release in November and Rubber Soul will follow that with a December release.
