The 2010 Amusement Expo combining both ASI and AMOA coin-op arcade gaming expos begins today. We will have updates coming in on our bemanistyle twitter page which is located on the left of the site.
Rhythm games that we except to see will be two new Pump It Up versions and Technika.
update; Games that we would like to see are DDR X2, Technika 2 and Jukebeat..
Day 1 has ended after much Pump action. Here is a small update of details from PRO2:
- PRO2 is still very beta and is being constantly updated. Today only 20 new songs were available with more being added for tomorrow. Song list will be posted tomorrow.
- The projected/advertised release date is April 2010 with both upgrades and dedicated cabinets available.
- The online USB leader boards will not be available at launch and will follow shortly after.
- Gauntlet mode has a battery life bar with about 20? bars. Many of the songs in this mode are not available in the Normal mode list which includes long versions, remixes and new charts. Similar to Courses with multiple songs per selected Gauntlet. I'm disappointed with this mode at the moment as it doesn't seem very interesting, although its far from being complete.
- Progressive mode was not available.
- Routine charts are in the Normal mode listed with the difficulties for Singles and Doubles. Two arrow colours are used; Blue for the left, Red for the right. You will definitely be stepping on each others feet for a while until you get used to the song/chart.
- 3D noteskins are available for both rhythm and classic styles.
- Combo colours have been added, Blue for full superb, green for full perfect.
- A full combo splash has been added.
Betson's booth was a long row on multiple games although lacking one very hot ticket game, Guitar Hero Arcade. This may and most likely have to do with the recent issue with ASCAP demanding public performance fees for the songs being played as we reported a few months ago. These are very scary times for music games, whose to say ASCAP won't go after others next? DDR was also absent again from the show floor with the only Konami presents being in the form of the redemption title Wonder Wheel. Naoki Okada VP of US Amusement for KDE was spotted but we were not able to get in questions asked. Tomorrow we will talk to Betson, RawThrills and hopefully KDE about DDR's future.
Aww its in Las Vegas. D:
I wish my school has a week off right nao x3

Pro 2 looks very interesting. Definitely going in the right direction with this release. Can't wait to hear more.

Bacon and I will be snagging some videos and hi-res photos tomorrow during the show. We also plan to find some way to chat with Mr. Okada for a little bit regarding Konami's treatment of the bemani franchise in the US as of late (what their plans are, how jukebeat performed, etc.)
Keep an eye on the main page and the twitter feed for more information.

Just yesterday I converted from DDR to strictly PIU and seeing Andamiro consistently bring their games to the US and with quality parts has made me dislike DDR. Go Pro 2!

I like this guy.
Also, what gives any thought that Technika 2 won't make it over to the U.S.? I mean it didn't do the best for the first game in terms of grabbing arcades to get it but I'm sure they just need to be consistent with it and they'll grab a more casual audience. In any case, I'd still assume 8 on the Break can still get it either way.
EDIT: Wait, ASCAP killing Guitar Hero AC? I like this. When they touch other games that matter, then I'll be mad. Though for now, I'm liking them. <3

Pro 2 is looking AWESOME!! I'm so stoked they added more noteskins, especially from NX2 and NXA! This is a great year for Pump players on both sides I say!
