EMPRESS is finally upon us! I'm sure there are an equal amount of players anxious to see what this installment in Konami's long running series has in store as there are players who feel that the "girly" interface is going to make them look like sissies when they play it. Nevertheless the game doesn't fail to please right out of the box, featuring 40+ new tracks on day one, a bunch of new e-Amusement tracking features, and some amazing new GOLI Matsumoto artwork. The songlist still isn't 100% complete and we already have a whole slew of tracks from recently release beatnation records albums, a track by Shinichi Osawa (Mondo Grosso) and a new song by American bemani fan turned Konami artist, DM Ashura.
Keep an eye out as the day (or night for us american fans) goes on, if we're lucky some gameplay videos may just hit youtube or nicovideo while the game is still extremely fresh. We'll keep you all as informed as possible of anything new that we find.

NOTES & NEW FEATUES
- The new turntable that Konami announced at the location test appears to come standard with all upgrade kits, and is nothing more than the top piece with a better non-slip texture on the top. I can't help but feel that it would've been just as effective and a lot cooler if they made it look more like a real LP.
- There are apparently a decent amount of updates made to the e-Amusement score tracking service this time around. The most notable of these being the new DJ Data service offered on the e-Amusement website. This new service will apparently track your clear rate, full combo rate and score data for each on each difficulty and allow you to review them on your web browser.
- Internet Ranking tracking has also been streamlined with the e-Amusement service, with all results being viewable on the same portal site as your DJ Data.
Argh, INJECTION OF LOVE is gone, but this looks like an incredible songlist. Can't wait for the uhh.. hidden songs; this will probably get even better as they reveal more songs!

DM Ashura isn't the only Konami Original artist I don't like. And correct me if I'm wrong, but DM Ashura is commissioned. Like Big Idea. And Thuggie D. (OK, those are unfair comparisons. But then again, they did all get their Konami starts in KCEH's DDR games >_>)

DM Ashura is not commissioned, he's definitely an original artist now.

DM ASHURA (as in the one here in bemanistyle) has a song on BM IIDX?!?!?!? Wow, that's super indeed. I never knew that Konami hired him or something. Indeed, I don't know what to say but this is really surprising and exciting.

Those aren't the beat unlocks, just DJ Point unlocks, and they've always had a history of making old songs with new charts (particularly anothers) unlockable tracks in game rather than playable outright. So it really isn't that weird at all.
The ACTUAL unlocks won't come until internet ranking starts off. Granted I'm sure we'll know what they are well before then.

Whereas shit like 3y3s gets raved about despite the fact that it's repetitive, boring shit. Yeah, the synths are decent but that's about it. Ryu is capable of way way better.

I'm not gonna judge it from the above video, because the sound quality isn't great, but I don't like most of Ryu's songs (the exceptions being Setsugekka, Dazzlin' Darlin', and Time to Air) so I'm not expecting to be in love with 3y3s either

I find it hilarious because Sakura Storm is far more repetitive and boring than anything else Ryu has ever come out with. 3y3s is pretty decent, if not very melancholic .

i've found almost anything ryu* does to be repetitive...but freaking amazing. 3y3s is an awesome song...but the last 30 seconds or so are completely unnecessary.

I'm confused. Who is DM Ashura? I know he won some kind of contest (with a song I didn't particularly care for but maybe that's just me) but who is he other than that?
He was originally a fan in the community who started off with some basic remixes that became popular in Stepmania. He's been aiming to get to Konami for quite a while.
neogenesis isnt that bad. I mean hes done a lot worse. but then again I'm not very picky when it comes to music in IIDX. hell they could have Charron Macarron on here and I would be happy.

Yeah, I believe he left BEMANI after DistorteD. "tiger yamato" was his last song, to my knowledge. But yes, taking away "20,November" is a crime.
Waiting until 6th Style to put 20, November in IIDX was a crime. That totally should have made its way over in 1st or Substream

From my understanding, it was in 1st Style, but it was just the 5-key chart (like just about all the other songs that came from 5-key that were in 1st Style). It was removed at 3rd Style (again, with most if not all of the 5-key crossovers), and was brought back in 6th Style with new charts. That's why it's under 6th Style. I could be off a little bit, but that's my understanding.
