Director Brett Ratner has been plenty vocal about wanting to develop a movie based on the game Guitar Hero. But Activision, the company that owns the franchise, isn't going for it. "I'd really like to do it, but they're not letting me," he tells EW.com. "I expressed my interest, but because it's such a success, it's like now there's no reason to make a movie about it." Ratner is a big fan of the game, incorporating it into videos he's directed for Miley Cyrus and Mariah Carey, and he envisioned a story about a small-town kid who dreams of fame and wins a Guitar Hero competition. "The game is wish-fulfilling, everyone can be a rock star." But despite the setback, Ratner is not giving up hope. "I might prevail," he says. "I usually do."
Maybe if he'd fit a Power Glove in there we might have something.
Exactly how touching/amazing of a story could you make with a plot idea like that. It's horrible. I've sat here for like 5 minutes trying to think of something to say but seriously nothing comes to mind other than this is horrible
Nice pic of him. He looks very cocky. So his idea of a plot is to have a kid win a guitar hero competition.... I could just go to my local Gamestop to see that plot in action... for free.
Please keep saying no Please keep saying no Please keep saying no Please keep saying no Please keep saying no Please keep saying no Please keep saying no
A small town kid suddenly, out of chance becomes a Rock Star, HOW ORIGINAL!
$5 says at the end of the movie he doesn't like it and goes back to his normal life because he's drifting further and further away from his family and friends or something.

Are you kidding? It'll end with him realizing his dream of being a rock star and becoming one, and they all lived happily ever after the end.
I bet he develops a sentimental connection with his GH controller, and at the end of the movie he realizes that its done all it can for him and that it's time for him to carve his own path as a rock star, so he tosses it in the trash or over a bridge or something, then the closing shot is some other kid finding the controller and being like, "Woah."
And then the credits come up.
Then everyone in the theater groans because as terrible as the movie that they just watched was, now they know that there's going to be an even worse sequel.
*Facepalm* Seriously. If this happen, the armageddon machine has already been started.

That's not how American movies work, to them, what you described is boring, generic, and used too much.
So now in nearly every movie when someone becomes successful, at the end they don't like it any more and they've learned the lesson of "be grateful for what you've got"
And in turn, that ending has become boring, generic, and used too much.

Oh yeah you are right.
He gets shot in the end because someone he beat in the first GH competition got pissed he became a rock star, he dies, everyone mourns, ends with Guitar Hero controller.
...damn the more possible endings that are brought to my attention the more I realize that this movie will get dumber and dumber.

If he usually prevails, can he get cracking on the IIDX in every US arcade bit?
He gets shot in the end because someone he beat in the first GH competition got pissed he became a rock star, he dies, everyone mourns, ends with Guitar Hero controller
Which sets up the obligatory revenge sequel, "Guitar Hero: The Movie 2 - Not Without My Whammy Bar".
"This summer, VENGEANCE JUST ACTIVATED STAR POWER."
He gets shot in the end because someone he beat in the first GH competition got pissed he became a rock star, he dies, everyone mourns, ends with Guitar Hero controller.
Even that I'm not too sure about.
Every director seems to always want to have an ending that leaves the audience feeling good...
Wow, this is still the front page article on this site. I'm gonna scream my face off every time I visit this website and see that man's horridly looking facial hair pop its way onto my monitor from now on until that creep moves down to at least the 12th article.
