i'd be interested if i actually watch american idol...considering that fact that i haven't seen a single episode since 2002 or so, i'll pass.
That's because the promoters don't want to spend money on flying rednecks or any of you other lamers outside of my wonderful state. Too bad for folks in Pheonix and Las Vegas though, Las Vegas is closer to Los Angeles than say Sacramento or San Francisco.
So these news announcements are fairly useless for a number of reasons:
1) Both of them were announced less than two days before the contest deadline
2) Both of them had ridiculous requirements:
-the first, you had to be 21, not 18..
-the second, having to live in California, still an age limit of 18
I understand it's the whole must-be-an-adult-so-you-can-do-things-on-your-own, but considering a large majority of the DDR community is under that age, it just seems kind of dumb. I can't enter either because I'm 18, but I don't live in California. See a problem there?

The *finale*? Assuming that I had any interest in going to one of these shows in the first place (which I don't) why the hell would I wait until there were two performers left and about 98% of anything about this show anyone gives a damn about has already been decided?
Now the round of 12, *that* might be worth going to. The last two? One discovers right away if he's going to be a success, the other has to wait a bit. BFD.
