DJ MAX Technika IC Cards now available through bemanistyle

The DJ MAX goodies just keep on coming. Since we've been working with PM Studios on promoting and providing feedback for the upcoming DJ MAX Technika arcade title, it only seemed like a natural fit for bemanistyle to be one of the sources for the game's collectible IC cards. The cards are used for score tracking as well as access to the upcoming Platinum Crew online service for all DJ MAX Titles.
The title is currently location testing in 3 areas around the country (New York, San Diego and New Jersey) and these cards WILL work for the location test machines. It's also important to note that the cards from previous locations tests as well as the DJ MAX Technika limited edition soundtrack sets WILL NOT work with the online modes in the US release. You can still use them to save scores and progress, but those cards are linked to the Korean/Asian Platinum Crew service which is not available for use outside of those regions.
The first print run will consist of 10 cards, with more designs coming in the near future. Cards cost $8 each (free shipping) and can be used to save your scores on any machine as well as provide you access to the platinum crew server. You can order as many cards as you want. Cards will be sent at random, with some designs being harder to obtain than others. A preview of each card can be seen below. Currently the on-site shop is not active but you can order the cards via the paypal button at the end of this post. All cards will be shipped from PM Studios starting Monday April 27th.
Keep an eye out for new design announcements and updates on the launch of the US Platinum Crew service in the near future!

Seems like Pentavision's penalizing us location testers for wanting to play their games the way they were meant to be played.
At least there're designs. Hellooooo, Melody! I would've greatly preferred being able to select one, though.
That has nothing to do with it, it's because the platinum crew servers in Korea require a social security number to sign up, and the cards are tied to the platinum crew service in their respective region. Michael and I have been talking and he would love to make it so the old cards will still work, but the way it's setup now they can't do too much about it. As always, we'll keep everyone posted with new developments on this stuff.

Also, after reading how I wouldn't be able to use a Soundtrack IC Card for US Platinum Crew, I'm kinda glad I didn't get the soundtrack now. At least I can get a card now.
If only I could somehow request the Melody card. I'd even pay $10-$12 for it. Regardless though, consider one (or two) ordered.

Only thing I'm concerned about is if Trilogy gets brought over, will the same issue exist. You didn't need a Korean ID or anything to register (yet) but there might be problems playing together and that would be a shame.
I'll buy a card once I know there will be a location in my neck of the woods (say within an hour or twos trip) like I did with Golden Tee.

Network play and ranking won't be affected by the whole issue with the cards. Again, the ONLY reason the old cards won't work on the US machines is because they're linked to the Korean Platinum crew service, which requires a KSSN to sign up for. They can still be used to save scores and progress, just not access the online modes.
Trilogy doesn't require a platinum crew membership in order to play, and I'm sure if it's brought over it will exist in the same capacity as the Korean version just with new servers setup to help with the online mode issues that US players have been experiencing.

Looks like I'm going to be ordering one per week just cuz I like the way the cards look... Although yeah, a big bummer on not being able to use our old cards for the platinum crew

I'm like 99% sure you don't need an ic card in order to sign up for the platinum club... The IC cards CAN be linked to ur platinum crew account but of course it's not required (although iono why you wouldn't in the first place...)
I also realized something right now...
$8 for one of these cards...
And I was tripping out about spending $5 for an initial D ver. 4 card... =D

Well, the difference is, you never have to buy another one again. It's not like these cards expire anyway.
Honestly speaking, I am glad to see that PM Studios is being more proactive with their US releases than Konami. At the same time though I wish they would give us an update with what's going on with the Fever patch that was mentioned back in March.
I'd like one of each design c'mon Pentavision sell it like that for some of us willing to pay for all the cards.

Cards will be available at the arcades where the games are located at launch. This is just an opportunity to buy them direct from PMStudios through us. The price should be the same no matter where you go, so this will also allow you to get your cards sooner. We'll continue to update the inventory when new designs are released as well, some arcades may not do constant reorders or whatever, so this is a permanent solution to that.
Test location arcades should be receiving a limited supply of cards within the next week or so as well.

I really wish I could pick the one I want (Clear Blue Sky) but I think I'm okay with most of the others. Ordered two (one for myself and one for a friend).

I picked myself up a Melody card since everyone else at the Break was going for Crear Brue Sky. <.<

Nope, still haven't heard back. I could try emailing them again, but I also warned my parents not to throw them out if they end up being delivered there.... -_-;
