Famitsu.com Now Reporting on "pop'n music portable"

While we were able to see the initial scans from the physical Famitsu publication, the company's official site is now featuring the new Sony PSP version of pop'n music, complete with in-game screens and early details.
The site states the obvious in that pop'n music is making its PSP debut, but it notes the game is slated to offer a number of different button layouts, letting players play the game's tunes in 3-button, 5-button, 7-button and 9-button gameplay modes. Playing on the Adventure theme of pop'n music 15, Famitsu is also showing off preliminary screens of the title's adventure mode. The site notes the game's secrets will be primarily unlocked through this mode and, while there are no solid details yet, it appears the characters will navigate a "game board" in search of keys to unlock the content. I'm not sure if this will be handled similar to pop'n music 8 where players stop a spinner to move spaces or if a new movement method will be introduced.
Currently, the site also makes mention of a few more staple pop'n music modes to be included in this entry - a free play mode, which allows players to freely select any song they have previously attempted, and a music player to allow players to simply listen to the game's music.
Yoshihiko Ota is the listed producer for the title and, according to Famistu, the release date and price for the title is still undecided.
Of course, you can bet we'll be sure to do further reports on the title as more information is made available.
I'll be buying this, fuck the haters. Music games are music games; play them if you want and have fun, don't throw a little bitch fit just because Konami's not catering to your every whim.

Buying this cause it's Pop'n and it's fun. Also supporting the series is a cool bonus.
Wish people would quit whining though. Who the fuck complains about a bemani game on a bemani site? If you like music games then play the damn game and stop complaining about it.
Until they release another version for the PS2/3, I'm calling these "excuse" titles. Very disappointing.
Then don't get them, and get the hell off the site.
Thanks for letting me freely voice my opinion. This game is just another excuse to not make the Playstation versions we want(Hence "Excuse" title), just like the "waste of time" I called the Wii version. And even If I wanted to get it, I can't now cause my psp is busted. I'm sticking by my opinions, I will continue to voice them, and there's not a god damn thing you can say or do to convince me to leave or not freely express how I feel on this game or any future games that come out. Everyone voices their opinion on games, and I should be allowed to without getting bashed on all the time. And I never said I didn't support the series.
I think the complaints and bitching are justified because these individuals are probably the poor souls who bought or made arcade style pop'n controllers and want to properly play my favorite ADVENTURE song In The Ruins by good-cool feat. Chico on EX. I only own a minicon and never was interested on a bigger pop'n controller so it's not that big of a deal for me. So yeah to all those people disappointed. Please just download the arcade games from that website. I'm sure the shittiest computers can emulate an arcade pop'n game no problem, or so I hope.

Not good talking about cracked stuff here... tisk tisk tisk
I want adventure... (or party, or movie), AI - or the 3 other local arcades that have pop'n...
I hope adventure someday comes to wii/ps2 but I will probably own a machine by that point.

It's not that you people voice your opinions. It's that you won't fucking shut up about them.

This should be a good time. Everyone who is whining "waaaah console release waaaah" should go back and slay the living fsck out of the home versions up to FEVER.
You get to whine when you can FC those 42s, soldier.

No offense, but you're a fucking idiot if you really think that Konami is making this so they will have an "excuse not to make Playstation versions". They make what they want to make, they don't need to make excuses for themselves. They could just as easily release no Pop'n games at all if that's what they wanted to do, and the notion that they're doing this "as an excuse" makes no logical sense whatsoever.

You have the freedom of right to have an opinion, you just need to learn how to keep it to yourself most of the times.
See if people actually experienced the real popn in the states rather than the kiddy popn that was for the wii. People may actually consider buying it, but without releasing any popn series to the US we can't really experience on how fun the game actually is.
If only america had a larger music/rhythm game audience.
I don't get this whole "release the game WE want" thing, since we're not the target audience. Unless you live in Japan, Konami Japan doesn't care about you.

No they won't. DDR is the only BEMANI game that has universal appeal to cultures in the Western world. Do you remember the 2006 PS2 game for the NA called beatmania? It tanked, BAD. Say what you want about how bad it was, the game had nice IIDX songs and it was a genuine beatmania experience, in purple. The first DDR game for the US PS blew chunks too. But it spawned a ton of games for the US. So no pop'n music would fail as much as say, Taiko Drum Master.

*points to Guitar Hero & Rock Band* That's the only kind of music games that Americans care about. Pop rock music.

this is totally my opinion and whatever but i think the whole reason people play DDR in america is because of the health benefits they hear about, the fan girls who eat and breathe Japan and the music, and people who enjoy seeing their friends look like total idiots and then proceed to mock them as such.
IIDX has a stupid hard learning curve as well and pop'n music can be intimidating with all the buttons you have to hit. yeah america is more into GH and RB since they are well aware of the songs that are on there and being able to hit some pads or press buttons and strum plastic without having to dedicate hours and years of work to perfecting their favorite songs is a lot easier than say listening to some random japanese song and pressing black and white keys or smacking the shit out of giant colored buttons. i also think some guys would be like "look at all those colors its like a fuckin rainbow if i play that i'll look like a fuckin faggot"
just my thoughts.

Wow, who pissed in your corn flakes this morning? Seriously? Is ignoring comments like that really too difficult for you?

I think it's cute that Konami is still under the delusion that Bemani games don't have niche fanbase (sans DDR). Either way, by the looks of it, Adventure PSP is going to be more successful than the previous two games simply on the grounds that it's pop'n Adventure.
