Kotaku over the weekend got their hands on some copies of the next Guitar Hero game, and were kind enough to not only post some screenshots of each version, but also reveal a partial songlist for the game, including the lists for five of the venues featured in the game (All of them notable locations in Aerosmith's career):

* - Cover Version
The game, which will feature 41 songs, will consist primarily of Aerosmith songs (thus the title, obviously) but also feature songs by 'opening acts,' which will comprise about 40% of the songlist, by Kotaku's observation. The game will release on June 29th of this year.
Also hot on the heels of this release is the discovery that Activision has filed for the release of Guitar Hero: Metallica by March of 2009 with the SEC. More on that can be read about here: http://kotaku.com/5012393/guitar-her...ming-this-year
I'm actually more impressed by the non-Aerosmith tracks on here than the Aerosmith ones. Of all the hits the band has, and yet they put in stuff like "Bright Light Fright" or "Beyond Beautiful"?
why did they waste She Sells Sanctuary, one of the songs I've most been wanting in GH since the first game, on this piece of trash. Though I guess pretty much everything that follows this is going to be even worse.
I am not a big Aerosmith fan. I am glad though it has more than just their songs tho. I dont own GH anymore, my PS2 guitar controller crapped out. I want to get GH3 or RB but i can play it elsewhere.
I would buy 100 copies of Guitar Hero: Led Zeppelin or Metallica. They have far too many great guitar songs.

Suddenly, Guitar Hero has turned into Sell-Out Hero. First Aerosmith and then Metallica. Then again, Metallica sold out a looooong time ago.
We're just gonna have to live with good bands giving up their integrity to MAKE MONEY. Here comes GH: Rolling Stones, GH: Led Zeppelin, GH: 70's and GH: 60's.
GH: Pink Floyd would be win though, and you KNOW it.

I was kind of curious how activision would continue GH. Seeing that they know little about music outside of what is "cool", I honestly though GH:Aerosmith was an elongated april-fools joke when I first heard it, but now they're applying the formula to metallica. Well thats not AS bad, but the games gonn ahave one funky curve if they want to put in their good songs.
Ha I'd take that.
Maybe if they develop a new type of controller with like...a turntable, and maybe 7 or so keys that you could...umm.. play! yeah, play the music on?
Eh it maybe wishful thinking, but I'm sure Activision will have no trouble comming up with one. I mean, they are very good at original and new ideas.
