GuitarFreaks & DrumMania XG Kyoto Location Testing

It looks like XG is getting quite the testing treatment, undergoing a brand new testing, this time at Round One in Kyoto. This particular testing will run from Oct. 6-12.
With a few location tests passing by, is there anyone on the site that has had an opportunity to check the title out? If so, shoot us a message or leave a comment as we would love to hear your thoughts on the newest entry in the series.
And where were you the million other times I called it Rundown?
Thanks.

Well, since I've checked out multiple location tests for this, I suppose I'll leave input.
Both games are incredible advancements over the preview entries in the series (in my opinion), but where they've made progress, they've also make steps backward.
The addition of long notes in Guitar Freaks is excellent. However, you have to SHAKE THE SHIT out of the guitar to rack up EXTRA POINTS!!!! (during long notes). This is about as ridiculously unfun as wailing bonuses were. Speaking of which, now there's THREE different directions you are instructed to "wail" your guitar, so for those looking to max their score, be prepared to flail your guitar around more than the kids in Guitar Hero commercials. The addition of the 2 extra buttons is sweet, but you can only play 5-fret on Expert. 4-fret on Advanced...sound familiar? It's pretty lame, considering most of the Expert charts hardly use the 5th fret anyways, unless you get into the harder songs which are just ridiculous. Where's the learning curve? It's like Day Dream all over again.
Drummania is sweet, but it kind of suffer froms the same issues as GF. The new cymbals/toms/foot pedal are hardly used, and for the most part it just feels like drummania. Until you play harder songs, where they just throw them around and you have no idea what to do. The 2nd foot pedal is not a double bass pedal, but it seems to differ from song to song (and sometimes it even switches mid-song).
The new rating system...kills me. 1 - 10, but with decimals to the 1000th place. It's the same thing as the old rating 1 - 100, really, with a 99 essentially being a 9.9. Except...they'll have shit like 5.750, which is like a 57.5. How is that necessary? The old rating system was already too ridiculous, and now they have everything in-between? And here IIDX is still running off of an obsolete 12 rating system. Priorities Konami, priorities.
The new cabinets are slick and sleek, just like the new DDR X cabinet. Which I suppose brings visual lag into the picture, huh. Not sure what to say here...get used to it?
All of that pointless crap aside, the new games are INCREDIBLE and the more buttons the better. The introduction of Sota Fujimori to the series is the deal sealer for me. Can't wait for the final version to be released so that we have access to more than 15 some-odd songs.
And here IIDX is still running off of an obsolete 12 rating system.
Better than the obsolete 8-star/feet rating system.

Show me a game that grades music difficulty in much more detail than IIDX and I'll show you a game where nobody can agree about the difficulty ratings.

IIDX's rating system is fine UP TO 12. All they'd need to do is make a 13 or 14 and things would be straight. Double Play really should go up to atleast 15 or 16, but that's a whole different subject.
GF&dm, while overkill, 100 was fine FOR THE MOST PART. But the fact that they've essentially got 100 now with decimal points, that's just ridiculously unnecessary. I'd actually venture to say that DDR X's rating system is pretty solid. pop'n's rating system would be better if they went up to 45, and just messed around with the 42's and 43's. Everything up to there is pretty solid too.
