IHRSA 2008 Fitness Trade Show Report

Friday, I attended the 2008 IHRSA show which is an international health and fitness trade show held in San Diego.
Note that these products are intended for fitness centers and school athletic programs.
Two booths this year was my main attraction; Shokk.US in partners with Positive Gaming unveiled their new Impact Arcade style home pad this year.

Here is a break down of their new pad and booth:
Constructed from a plastic composite. This makes for a very light weight, yet durable pad.
The arrow panels are held in much like the arcade panels, by brackets, instead of being screwed directly into the pad.
Two steel buttons allow navigation through menus ala start and select, pictured here.
The booth, which was very small, featured two of their new dance pads and other fitness equipment.
Next we have XerGames from Sportwall. Their booth had Pump PRO X which is a multi player system from modified software of Pump PRO AC.

Pump PRO X displays three difficulties on screen, pictured here. The software recognizes which chart you are playing and scores you on that difficulty auto-magically.
Navigation through the menus and song select was done by a regular usb keyboard
With the monitor screen they had on display, the use of wireless pads, and the lack of ability to see your judgment while playing I was getting very low scores due to lag/latency.
With the upside being their large booth, the downside was the setup of the audio. There would be times were you would hear no audio as it was only outputting either in mono or from one mid range with no treble or bass.
I will have video demonstrating the Pump PRO X interface and menu setup online shortly!
bacon, if you recommend it as a great pad with a review I will buy one based on your review.

Does this mean anything? Anything? Like a new Pump/ITG console game?
I never noticed how much really slow charts made you look like a shuffling zombie.

TheManator: I truly appreciate your confidence of my writing!
mirasaki: I think you are missing the point. These games are intended for fitness and are marketed to fitness centers and other athletic programs. Although it was not apparent at the show, Positive Gaming is currently working on a new 4 panel game for both arcade and fitness multiplayer using their new arcade style pad design.

I'm not sure how many of you know me, but I was there with bacon and have some more videos... they should be up soon.
Was anything about the pricing announced? I mean, if they are solid and affordable, it'll be hard to resist.

These are originally to be released in Europe. This is the first I've seen of them in the US. As for price..."The first pads are sold for 700 Euros, which is approximately $1,000 US dollars."-lord_diablo on AIJ.
