After much planning, PM Studios today confirmed to Bemanistyle it has full intent to publish the Pentavision-developed touch-screen arcade cabinet DJ Max Technika in the United States.
It appears the whole deal will be brought over to the United States as is, with the ID card features (platinum crew, customization, stats), 32" display, vibrating stage, three difficulty modes, customizable play lists, the Platinum Crew paid service for extra items and events, network service, visuals from Korea's top artists and more.
So far, information confirms the following artists for the game:
Clazziquai
015B
BJJ
Sugar Donut
Garion
Humming Urban Stereo
Yozoh
The presentation for DJ Max Technika indicates the Korean public beta testing of the game pulled in $2,800 during a three-day run - at only $0.50 a play! While Korea had its fun testing the machine, it's now our turn - while no specifics are being announced at this time, Michael Yum of PM Studios indicates U.S. testing locations will be announced very soon and you'll be able to pin down those tests right here on Bemanistyle when they are announced.
Until then, enjoy the variety of posters and presentation images forwarded to us today, which include arcade cabinet shots and translations of the banners and game information slated to be used on the cabinets.
Edit: PM Studios has also now provided us with batches of in-game images from the arcade title. View and enjoy!
Hey, Could I get contact info on this guy from PM? I manage an arcade out in Kansas City that's VERY music game oriented and would love to try and snag a location test for them. (Game Zone)
If you go to www.djmax.co.kr/technika there's a video of the machine there.... so I'm waiting to see that on PM's site in english.
Wow only 50 cent huh.. over only 3 days??? Wow...
Now that's a pretty nice price to play. Hmmm...
I really do hope it's not wickedly expensive though.... I have a feeling it'll be in the teen thousands though.
It's great news all this stuff is coming to the US but I sure hope the US likes it. I know I do.
But DJ Max's presentation looks VERY nice. I've showed a few people who knew really nothing about music games besides guitar Hero and they said it looked pretty cool. Some even gave it a try and liked it.
I don't think it'll do too badly here. Man this is great news!
Great to see more companies getting their games into the US market. I hope that the test location will be in NYC, so I'll have some sort of chance to play it.
@Dreamcube017: I don't think the cabinets will be very expensive. If the Pump machines count as an example, the recent NX cabinets are outfitted nicely and generally sell for way less than DDR cabinets.
Do a loc-test here in Montgomery, Al!! We need some new shit other than DDR down here! I'm so frickin tired of it and I would love to show out to all these people down here who don't know anything about DJMax!
On another note, great move on porting this over to US Arcades. Now if only we could do this with fighting games. ~ _~
