mydjsobad @ Anime Expo 2010

Let me start off by saying that this is NOT an April Fools joke. This year we'll be throwing a party in cooperation with Anime Expo, similar to the HARDCORE SYNERGY parties that we have thrown every year at Anime Central. For our first year we have 6 artists lined up so far:
DJ CHUCKY
m1dy
GUHROOVY
NO+CHIN
M-Project
DJ Schwarzenegger
The party will be occurring on Friday, July 2nd in the evening with encore sets from some the DJs on Saturday July 3rd. We're still discussing the plans for the Friday night party, and may be adding a few more people to the lineup in the very near future.
In addition to the party, we'll be hosting a sales booth in the dealers hall which may include some new exclusive items to commemorate our first appearance at this convention. Keep an eye out for future announcements regarding this and other events, as well as the forthcoming re-opening of mydjsobad.com
You just made my week. And here I was considering road-tripping to Illinois, but instead you'll be doing another Synergy over the course of my birthday. Thanks Eddie~
YES YES YES YES YES YES OH GOD WOW FUCK YES THANK YOU
Oh man, and to think that I was starting to wonder if AX'10 would suck or not after the whole SPJA management fiasco going on. Holy shit this just made my day.
I will choke a bitch or two if I have to just to get there.

I'm just going cause it'll be the first one I am old enough to go to!
Phhh. Kids. :Y
Well, let's see. AX '08 had all their big shows/concerts across the street at the Nokia Theatre, which was a double-edged sword of a deal. On one hand, nice-ass new venue, great seats, great views, etc. OTOH, they were ridiculously strict on what you can and cant carry with you. I was lucky that they let me check my sombrero and folding tripod chair downstairs with the check clerk as soon as I got in for the Opening Ceremony. Lot of folks already in cosplay with large props were shitting bricks because they were afraid that after 2 hours in line, they'd be turned away at the door.
'09 had shows inside on of the large exhibit halls converted into a makeshift stage/theater. Those crappy party chairs they set up were uncomfortable, and because it was just all laid out on a flat ground, view was a little worse the further back you sat. Or if you sat on the far sides. oTL
I'm not sure if it was for money reasons that they didn't use Nokia last year. Although I do remember that AX was *just* after Michael Jackson had died, and they were setting up Nokia for the big ass funeral. News trucks and large ass satellite broadcast trucks were set up all around the Convention Center/Staples Center/Nokia Theatre area.
Or there's the possibility that this will be set up like one of the late-night dances at AX, which in that case, the show will probably be in one of the ballrooms at the Bonaventure hotel right down the street where they usually have the dances.
tl;dr: WHO FREAKING CARES WE GOT AN AWESOME SHOW COMING TO US

hahah I would totally not go if they host it at the ballrooms where the 15's are celebrated! but that's not even a possibility!

The party will be held at the JW Mariott from what I've been told. We're still working out schedules and dates at the moment.
Will we be needing an AX badge to get in or will we be able to pay an entry fee? I'd love to go since I'm in the area but I'm not sure about going to AX

Will need an AX badge, either way it'll totally be worth it. In the past registration has gone really smooth and quick. Even if you're there just for the party it's 35 dollars for 1 day and 50 for 2 which in regards to price for a live event as such, is not too bad.
