Those custom made controllers are more of an issue then this game is because as far as I'm aware, This Muse-On controller seems like the King of the controllers to use for this kind of game.

The 8K layout covers DJMax Trilogy (and a springboard if they can make it compatable with the 360 or PS3 for that title if they bring DJMax there,) EZ2On, O2Jam if thats still around... and if Konami wants to borrow the tech you can actually see a future of IIDX on the PS3/PC (since it is a USB peripheral.)
I'm concerned about a lawsuit, think all of us are concerned... but I think this covers all music games on the PC or systems related to the USB. I can think of strong possibilities of how this could push the genre forward if Konami doesn't step in. As long as the controller is good quality and easily replaceable parts then I'd buy one, just not sure how long it would be to adapt to playing on one since I can't even make 11's on IIDX.

Bah. When would Konami ever borrow anything, or make a mutually beneficial deal with anyone else, besides for Guitar Hero Arcade? Even if it were to benefit their fanbase they wouldn't go for it.
Over the last few years they've made it very clear that they don't care about anything except themselves...and they've made it very, very clear that they have no tolerance or desire for other companies that produce similar games, the games themselves, and the players that enjoy those games.
The only exception is that they seem to have admitted defeat in the American rock "genre" by choosing to give their seal of approval to Activision and Raw Thrills for GH Arcade. But I bet you that if Rock Revolution had sold better, there's no way that would have happened either, and we'd be seeing Rock Revolution Arcade instead (and another lawsuit if GHA came out anyway).
I think it's great that this controller is coming out but... pardon the cliche...I feel that Konami *will* sue due to its connection with DJMAX. The older knockoffs were specifically for IIDX so they may have let those slide.
