Here's hoping this is better than the first one. Less bad itg content, more good songs from pump, more good original content with fun charts.
Pump Pro will never be the same game as pump, but the first game really wasn't awful. There's some stuff I do like about it, and it'll be cool if it has good piu content since these pro cabs are generally a bit easier to come by than newer pump cabs (at least around here).
So yeah, while pro never really amazed me I'm more or less happy about the announcement.

Basically my issue with the first game is that I would simply never choose shit like utopia/xuxa/destiny/summer, crap that transferred from ITG.
There ARE plenty of good original pump charts, like Coming Out, Feels Just Like That Night, and Hasse Mich, which are ok songs with good charts. However there was also a lot of crap like anything Re-Rave, MOST of playmaker songs, and many others.
So while there was more bad than good, the good still brings me to the arcade every now and then, as there's always the challenge of raising scores.
Pump Pro will never be the same game as pump, but the first game really wasn't awful.
It wasn't. It had bad charts and it had good charts.
What it did lack was length though. I felt like I did all that felt necessary to do only momentarily after a bit of play whereas I'm still playing NX and discovering new stuff I haven't looked into yet.
Hope they add a lot more to do in this one.

I have nothing against players of ITG or PIUpro but they lack a je ne sais quoi that makes them look like fanmade homebrew games. It's cool that there's a new PIU, I just wish it was from Andamiro.
If this game doesn't get the proper treatment of doubles it deserves (IE doubles marathons and better charts overall) then I won't even touch this game. Totally pointless to play and I'd rather wait for NX4 at that point.
Also, ITG official crossovers were a good idea, but the charts were just such shit, except for Hasse Mich, Utopia, and Y2Z.
So who exactly 'IS' the development team for Pro 2 anyway? From what I was told a while ago, most of the people that were behind ITG & Pro1 have nothing to do with this current release at all.

I think you mean to say that they lack a je ne sais quoi that *keeps them* from looking like fanmade homebrew games.
The way you worded it makes it sound like the other games look fanmade and that ITG/PIUpro look professional.

There's actually a lot of us on the team, too many that i don't even feel like typing out all of them... There's still about 5 people from the original team though.
Yeah on second thought, the songs that transferred from ITG would have been ok, had they better charts. Summer double was done pretty poorly imo, but despite that there were some good original double charts. hasse mich double was fun, Love Eternity (w/e the name of that 14 is) had some quick runs but was good also. As long as they bring to the table a good mix of NX2/NXA which had a ton of fun content, and a bit more of the good we saw from pump it up pro 1 I'll be happy.
I think less wide-runs would be nice as they have been over-used and generally aren't fun. That goes with pro and NX songs like wi ex doc va.
Also will there be any kits available for GX cabinets? it's a shame seein my 100%'s on the fx cabinet I play on, and not being able to get anymore because they don't take care of their machine, but there are working GX's that I could try to get arcade owners to upgrade on.
Also will there be any kits available for GX cabinets?
PRO1 was available as an upgrade kit for GX machines. Upgrading required drilling a hole in the front of the machine to insert the button panel. Well worth it. :)
If you're interested in obtaining a PRO1 upgrade kit for GX machines, ask your local Andamiro distributor.

The new Andamiro Pump game comes out the same month. The REAL Pump will come at the same time, thank god. Kinda hoped Pro 2 would come out substantially before NXA's sequel though, to not kill the real sequel's thunder in the marketplace.

yeah too bad the next nxa sequel will be terrible and pro 2 will easily be superior.

...but in all seriousness I'm excited. It looks to me like they just took some of the popular ITG edit-songs and made them official. Smart move. Honestly, I'm sure I'm not the only one who would rather see DM Ashura's music over Kyle Ward. As much as some would hate to admit it, Ashura is an ok artist.

Excited to hear the Sanxion7 and DM Ashura songs.

I've read through all the comments and there are some good and bad points on both sides of the spectrum. I understand that many of you complain about the doubles charts, but once I dived a little bit deeper they began to grow on me. Don't get me wrong, there are a few stinkers (Kitty Kat), but most of them are great, especially some of the Half-Double charts (example: London Bridge, Solitary, Arch of Darkness). Some of the better charts in my opinion are Move It Groove It (NM), Coming Out (NM), Nightmoves [It's tough (NM)], Xuxa (NM), and a few others. Our group of Pump players at the Boardwalk Bowl only play doubles charts, so they must not be that bad.
As far as requesting songs, here's a few I would like to see:
1.) Street Showdown - BanYa - Has an AWESOME Nightmare chart
2.) Oy Oy Oy - BanYa - Would love to see a Nightmare chart for it
3.) My Way - BanYa - Also has a great CZ and NM chart
4.) Lazenca, Save Us - N.E.X.T - Has potential to be hard
5.) Deja Vu - Som2 - Dying to play this on Pro
6.) Typhoon - D.O - Doubt this is going to happen, but please!
7.) Pierrot - Lee Hyun Do - Difficult NM chart and a perfect song for Pro!
8.) Till the End of Time - BanYa - Just appeals to me
9.) Com' Back - Sechskies - Fun CZ and NM chart. Good song to show off to.
10.) Tell Me - Wonder Girls - My guilty pleasure? You know you want it.
CREv.

I have a feeling the DM Ashura, Kid Whatever/DiskoWarp and Sanxion7 songs are on here because A - They were either extremely cheap or cost nothing to license and B- Players have already seen them/play steps to them.
A bit unoriginal, yes? Also - That Sanxion 7 logo looks suspiciously like the one I originally made for the Rebirth team o_O

I'll try to catch you on AIM. I'm very sure that the person who made that BG wasn't aware of the circumstances between you and the ITG Rebirth folks. Thanks.

it's too easy when it's you, that's why I did it. Of course the real pump will be better, but I sure as hell don't mind 2 brand new pump games being released at the same time.
I strongly believe we should give DMAshura's songs a chance, he deserves it. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and if you don't like his work, then you don't have to pay attention to it. I like his work, especially Δ MAX even though I feel it didn't get the attention it deserved in DDR Universe. I'm very excited about this and I can't see what Jason Dread and the Pro Team have in store for the game. Great job so far guys!
Hot. Now that Kyle Ward isn't on the team, I will probably like this significantly more. His slew of songs on Pro (and having to hear them so often whenever around the machine) kind of killed the first one for me.
Definitely looking forward to this. (Though, can I please request that you get some CanBlaster/Nightmare songs again in the future? D: Is there a reason why him and Vospi weren't simply ported from ITG3 like the rest of the songs? It is good to see zircon, Saxxon, and Ashura on here, though.)
@Draigun: If you are going by the "ITG3" packs, remember that they are 99% made up. The only songs they actually can confirm are the previews from ITGPC and Hasse(n) Mich.

lol you're really funny. You have no clue what you're talking about.
Ashura's songs make up about 50% as to why I'm going to even look at this game. I only see this game as mildly promising because they grabbed community members to work on this. No fancy theme or any amount of fancy features (except R21) can hide the fact that the charts are the most important part of the game.
Lastly, no more PUMP crossovers please, keep it all original + ITG crossovers only.

Vospi confirmed on the Music Production board here that he was going to be featured on ITG3, CanBlaster confirmed to me in person. :P I know that they were going to have songs in ITG3, and I was just wondering why they weren't just asked to be in Pro 2, as well.
*EDIT: I'm also going to reiterate how excited I am that zircon will be on Pro 2. For those unaware, he was also featured as the "NewStuff" demo song on FL Studio 9: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L6N24aIRG1E
Definitely one of the most beautiful and catchy songs I've heard come out of that program.
