RUMOR: Rock Revolution Songlist?

Kotaku received an anonymous tip today containing an xls file with what seems to be the full setlist for Konami's upcoming foray into Americanized Guitar/Drum simulation, Rock Revolution. The list only features 41 songs (paltry sum in comparison to the 80+ GH:WT and RB2 will have this fall) but I'm sure it doesn't speak for unlockable tracks, just licenses. I'm still holding out hope that we see some of the better GFdm Konami Originals.
blink-182 - All The Small Things System Of A Down - Chop Suey! Quiet Riot - Cum On Feel The Noize Fall Out Boy - Dance, Dance Kiss - Detroit Rock City Motley Crue - Dr. Feelgood Deep Purple - Highway Star Megadeth - Holy Wars... The Punishment Due Dream Theater - Pull Me Under The Killers - Somebody Told Me Soundgarden - Spoonman Queen - Stone Cold Crazy Wolfmother - The Joker And The Thief Rush - Spirit Of Radio Twisted Sister - We're Not Gonna Take It Cream - White Room Skid Row - Youth Gone Wild All American Rejects - Dirty Little Secret Papa Roach - Last Resort Ratt - Round And Round Whitesnake - Still Of The Night Jet - Are You Gonna Be My Girl Scorpions - No One Like You Breaking Benjamin - Diary Of Jane The Ramones - Blitzkrieg Bop Korn - Falling Away From Me Killswitch Engage - The End Of Heartache Iron Maiden - Run To The Hills Pantera - Walk Judas Priest - Heading Out To The Highway The Who - Won't Get Fooled Again Three Days Grace - Pain Foo Fighters - All My Life Diamond Head/Metallica - Am I Evil? Joan Jett and the Blackhearts - Bad Reputation Lacuna Coil - Our Truth Avril Lavigne - Sk8er Boi Lita Ford - Kiss Me Deadly Heart - Magic Man Finger Eleven - Paralyzer Linkin Park - Given Up
It's really not a bad songlist given that it's the series' first outing. The fact that so far all anyone has heard has been covers kind of kills it, or maybe everyone is just so spoiled by master tracks anymore that they've forgotten that the point of these games is to create the music yourselves. Hence the whole "full band" thing. So far Konami and Zoe Mode have stepped up and shown a very solid drum controller, and a totally capable songlist. We'll see how the finished product turns out in a matter of months.

Not a bad songlist? This is horrendous. Many of the tracks have already been done in other games, and the ones that haven't... well, let's just say I REALLY don't want to have to play Papa Roach. Or Korn. Or Killswitch Engage. Or Finger Eleven. Or Lacuna Coil. Or Avril Lavigne. Or... well, you get the point. There's a lot uninteresting crap on here.
If they're doing Diamond Head/Metallica, shouldn't they also have it as Slade/Quiet Riot? Or is the slash just to indicate that we don't know which version they're going to try to cover?
Also, there are only a couple songs I'd actually want to play on here that I couldn't get elsewhere: Pull Me Under, Holy Wars, and Youth Gone Wild. I'm majorly disappointed in the Judas Priest offering, though... a mediocre track off their worst album?
I'll take Painkiller (and a crap ton of others) on Rock Band 2 any day over this.
The large amount of songs already in other games is kind of not what most people hope for. Others don't seem too adecuate for a music rythm game, or plain WTF. However, some others do sound pretty good. At least Rush and Dream Theater made it in... I just pray the cover song is of good quality.
Hey, remember that game with Hottest Party in the name, where all of the licenses were covers and they were actually pretty good? Yeah.
It's Konami. They know music for music games better than anyone, I think. This will turn out just fine, so long as it's actually given a chance. Which it probably won't be, but oh well.
Man they better not throw in any GFDM songs because then I might have to consider buying it :/ If they copy the GH gameplay some songs like White Tornado could end up being really fun.
Maybe I'm the only one who noticed that it looks like they either pulled Jimmy Eat World's song Pain or they replaced it with a like named track from Three Days Grace. :o
Personally, I'm much happier not to have one of my favorite songs by JEW stuck onto a castrated trash barge of what could've been a good chance for a US Bemani release.
Good thing konami is trying to dish out whatever they can in the rock "band" market. If I was an intent gamer for these type of games, I would definitely be interested.
The song list looks awesome, mostly with notable "today" songs I am familiar with. I hope this product will take a nice good piece of the market!
Anyways, the songlist to me is pretty solid. Solid enough to make me consider it after RB2 at least. :P
I thought at least one of the songs was a master track. Maybe two. Cowboys from Hell and Cochise? I don't exactly pride myself on Guitar Hero knowledge :P
I'm pretty confident Konami will deliver some original songs. Guitar Hero and Rock Band both had Bonus songs by in-house artists, so I don't see why Rock Revolution wouldn't.
We should all hope for Asaki to at least produce one track with an English singer. I suppose only time will tell.
Whether or not they include KOs will basically decide if I eventually buy.

Bobby Blackwolf made an interview with Konami about RR, and they confirmed that there are no KOs on the disc because, in their words, "this is a rock game, this has to have rock songs."
Song list actually has some pretty good songs which havn't been in any games yet, but it just seems like Konami is now playing catchup with the two games (well, definetly one, GH is sucking) which have clearly taken a concept similar to theirs and improved on it to the point that their just better made than a Bemani game (YES I actually said that. I'm ready for the fire). Maybe if this was released a year or two ago this might have been some solid competition but between the small song list (compared to the newer games), cover only list, and PROBABLY having about as much innovation and added on features as GFV5.

I'm pretty sure I remember hearing Given Up was a master track, which would make sense given the fact Konami's sponsoring Linkin Park's Projeckt Revolution and all.
Sadly, from what I've heard from people who have played this game, the cover quality for the most part is really bad. They described them as being as bad as the Faint cover on SN2.
And all of the songs on GH1 were covers, though the difference was that, for the most part, the covers were really well done.

Hasn't this songlist been on Wikipedia for like at least three months?

I like those odds.

Isn't it rumored to be on GH:WT? In any case there are better DT songs that could take its place.
Unfortunately, it was confirmed that the rumored songlist that had Pull Me Under was fake, although they did say some songs (they didn't say which) were correct.

Why the hell do i even pay attention to konami games anymore?
Konami of America must've come up with this one...just like they created beatmania (US), while Konami of Japan is most probably concentrating more on the GFDM series. Why not try harder to port GFDM to the US via KoA instead of this (yeah I'm gonna say it) Rock Band ripoff!?

blink-182 - All The Small Things
System Of A Down - Chop Suey!
Fall Out Boy - Dance, Dance
The Killers - Somebody Told Me
Twisted Sister - We're Not Gonna Take It
All American Rejects - Dirty Little Secret
Papa Roach - Last Resort
Jet - Are You Gonna Be My Girl
The Ramones - Blitzkrieg Bop
Foo Fighters - All My Life
Joan Jett and the Blackhearts - Bad Reputation
Avril Lavigne - Sk8er Boi
Lita Ford - Kiss Me Deadly
This is what I personally think is pretty good on this tracklist. I don't think I'll get Rock Revolution, because the last thing I'll need is a fourth controller (as I have 2 Guitar Hero controllers, and am getting Rock Band sooner or later) taking up space in my room.

Konami Of America DID NOT make beatmania (US). The Japanese beatmania CS team created that game entirely, Togo was the sound director with assistance from L.E.D. Blame them for the songlist. The game's direction and design was handled by THE SAME GUY AS THE JAPANESE VERSIONS.
GOD DAMN, I'm so tired of everyone using Konami of America as the fucking scapegoat. Aside from Ultramix and Karaoke Revolution, they have little to no control over any of the bemani releases that come to the US. Konami of Japan is the reason our games are the way they are, get your collective head out of your ass and read the credits for the games sometime instead of just assuming that we're getting screwed by the guys who actually push for this stuff to come out in the US.
As for Rock Revolution, the team that made the covers for Hottest Party worked on tracks for this game as well. I don't know how many, but I am aware that they did some. I'm pretty sure Zoe Mode was in charge of the song selection as well.

doubly funny is that the ultramixes and karaoke revolutions are all pretty good releases
I'll treat this crap the same as I do with those other two. This is not a BEMANI game in my book. I'll wait patiently for the next big Konami release, beatmania IIDX 15 CS or the official release of EMPRESS.
XBox DDRs have wonderful steps overall (there are, of course, the C.Foys in the set), but they just get the short end in music.
Stompin' at the Gotham, TOE JAM, Delta 32 (UFO! Remix), the Jondi & Spesh songs, the DM Ashura songs and the Midihead songs would like a word with you, among the legion of others.
EDIT:

*ahem* NOT BEMANI. NOT INTENDED TO BE BEMANI. NOT EVEN MADE BY KONAMI.

As far as I remember, the Zakk Wilde song was the only master track by a non-indie artist.
NOT BEMANI. NOT INTENDED TO BE BEMANI. NOT EVEN MADE BY KONAMI.
Which is why it sucks.

Umm, I'm more than willing to guarantee that Konami is going to slap the Bemani logo on this game. The Karaoke revolution games were never developed in house by Konami, but they all bear the Bemani logo.

Karaoke Revolution would like to have a word with you
EDIT: And the funny thing is, the Japanese version, developed by KCET, isn't Bemani

That's because the Japanese versions aren't games. They're just Karaoke on the PS2.

Here's hoping that the FANTASTIC Ghostbusters cover on IIDX14 makes it in. Something's definitely weird in MY Neighborfood.
Sigh...hasn't been a good American (or American port of a) music rhythm game IMO since...
ummm...
Maybe the electronic Simon Says from '89? Beep Boop Boop BOOP BOOP BEEP!

So much for the covers being any good. Hottest Party sucked because of that.
Needs more Japanese songs. If they don't have any imports from GF/DM, then they can't differentiate themselves from the competition (Guitar Hero/Rock Band), where some of the songs listed here appeared beforehand.
