TapMania's development began early this year and has been avilable on the ModMyi repository only available to those who have a hacked/jailbroken device.
The main developers behind this Stepmania port are Alex Kremer aka godexsoft and Matthew Tran aka Archivolt.
TapMania will allow you to import .SM/.DWI and .MP3 files over a web interface via Wifi. 6 songs from the Stepmix 1 pack are included and custom Themes can installed.
Currently iOS 4.0 is mandatory so those of you with older iTouch/iPhones won't be able to run TM just yet.

Wow, an official iPhone app that lets you transfer files without iTunes! Amazing!
Bah, iOS4. My iPhone is jailbroken; has that version been updated as well?

FINALLY <3
Downloading ...
EDIT : Damn , it seem that it does not work with OGG =/

yeah no ogg support due to Apple, but it is cool how you sync songs.
you type in the ip that your phone is using on the router and the port that tapmania has opened. zip up an sm/dwi and mp3 and transfer the sim to the phone.

Yep , this feature is great.
I used Switch Sound File converter for Ogg => Mp3 , it seems to work pretty well. ( i mean , for a freeware )

Everything works great, the game, options, songs, sync (on my iPod Touch 8gb), and the transfer/load of songs.
I don't really see a sync issue like people on the itunes store are saying (but they say they have iPhones and I remember there being sync issues with iPhones and DDR S as well).
Only thing is, I seem to still be a ton better at DDR S than this (yes play all songs on their hardest difficulty). I'm not sure why, but I seem to get a few more misses on this than I do DDR S and S+.
When vyhd gets OpenITG going on the iPad, I'll be playing that quite a bit. A much better way to look at charts from tournament packs than just opening up the laptop and all that. I can't stand the default theme for SM4. x.x
Also, since I'm lazy to download, you can set the global offset on this right?
EDIT: Just saw this from second glance...no .ogg support? GARBAGE, FU Apple. x.x

This is interesting mostly because Stepmania is on iTunes.

Who gives a fuck about .ogg support, just convert the file, it takes about 5 seconds in Audacity
Eat the slightly larger file size and move on with your life

How about when you have a file synced with an .ogg and when you convert it over to .mp3 it goes late and it's annoying when you have to resync every file because a company like Apple fucks you over. I have no idea if you play ITG in a hardcore sense or not but when you're someone like me that's playing ITG a lot, .ogg is your main file ext. and not having .ogg means I'll never touch this app.
tl;dr Waiting for an OITG app.
EDIT: I'm at Pianoman's and he happened to just finish configuring it so I got a play on it and I'll say this:
1. It's smooth, and no input lag. It's not hard to outdo Konami but just saying, good job.
2. Fix that arrow input moving thing (I know you're already on it).
3. Get custom noteskins working. Anything regarding SM4 default is ugly as hell so please.
4. As much as it is an enjoy, I still want OpenITG more. Unless you can allow a global-offset change option in the options menu.

then once you're up there in the high echelon of stepmania players, take a video of yourself the likes of which shall not be mentioned at this time and when it gets leaked go out with a bitchfit and fade into obscurity~
Grabbed the non-official release on Cydia for my iPhone 2G...it seems to crash occasionally for some songs, or just freeze...otherwise, it's great.

This has been a great app so far. Even people that have never played any sort of dancing game whatever have enjoyed it too. Told my friends to download it and they are having fun with it.
