The new Konami game "Walk it Out" for the Nintendo Wii saw its release this week, arm in arm with a songlist that will most likely leave some raising their eyebrows.
You might recall that the game, first announced way back in July of 2009, has players using their Wii controller, Balance Board, or DanceDanceRevolution controller to walk to the beat of the song while they travel through enviornments, gaining points to add trees, buildings, and other objects to their virtual world. On-screen trainers help players keep track of distance walked as well as providing other fitness advice.
The game's songlist, which includes over 120 songs, is probably the most jaw-dropping aspect of this game. Outside of the 20 licenses includes 100 Konami Originals, including brand new offerings from the likes of artists like kors k, Ryu☆, RAM, Sampling Masters MEGA, DJ Simon, nc, and Fracus among many others. Walk it Out is available for the Wii now for $29.99, no peripherals are included with the game.
Thanks to Alan at Zenius -I- vanisher.com for the information.
Edit: We have found out via press releases today, the title will also be made avaialble in European territories this March. While the name of the title will be changed to Step to the Beat, it appears thus far that none of the songs will be changing to reflect any sorts of European exclusive licenses. We'll keep our eye on the European release and if anything exclusive pops up, we'll be sure to let you know.
"Dance While The Records Spin".... hahahahaha, that's priceless. What's next, "Come Fly With Me"?
...Holy crap, Treble Bass and Attitude remix. Maybe THIS game will have Edit Mode and doubles unlike the Hottest Party games. For doubles you could jump to the other pad to avoid puddles or something.

Sampling Masters and NO+CHIN in a walk game? Those names are cool but how's that going to play in a walking game?
YEAH RIGHT COME ON WALK IT OUT WITH ME N O C H I N NO+CHIN PARTY
What is up with these games missing the song that is contained in the titled game?
Such as Just Dance; that game doesn't have the Lady Gaga hit. And now with this, we don't even see "Walk It Out". Weird...
However on the bright side, we are looking at a brand new list of Konami Originals. Some can be claimed as DDR rejects (as one of my good friends mentioned). Some can be seen in new Bemani games in the future.
But my biggest WTF is: out of all the games Konami makes, they decide to make a songlist that DDR never had and incorporate them into a walking game. Seriously...this walking game!?
Everybody's comments about this game is just making me laugh. Why didn't they make a songlist this good for beatmania U.S.? Talk about a walk in the twilight zone.
edit: Just looking at the cover, who is anyone going to take this game seriously? Can't we just change this to a beatmania style?

I played this game last night....
-It doesn't incorporate Wii avatars
-you don't get to change the way the avatar looks you choose boy (pants) or girl (shorts) then you get to pick colors and name it.
-The tracklist is unlockable... you get a 30 minute tracklist to start with and each song is 50-100 "steps"
-Tracklist is divided into sections so you don't have to hear the popular songs if u don't want.
-you have to walk to the beat using balance board/nunchuck (as a pedometer)/ddr pad
-on fast songs u have to walk fast, if you hit great or perfect step u get 1 point if you don't walk to the beat you lose one point.
-I played this game for a mile screwing around with the nunchuck before I quit and went back to taiko no tatsujin :D
